Text: Lizzie Ramsey married (1) William James McArthur, b 1840 in Scotland and d abt 1882 in Wellington, Ontario, Canada.
The young widow migrated with her son into Minnesota with her parents and siblings. They eventually settled in Walsh County, North Dakota.
Lizzie's second husband was James Maloney (md. 1845-1889). He was b 1823 in County Kildare, Ireland and d abt 1889 at Park River, Walsh County, North Dakota.
Lizzie, with her widowed daughter-in-law, Caroline Amelia Henderson McArthur Weishair, and grandson, Merrit Hilyerd McArthur, remained together following the deaths of the respective spouses of the two women. They homesteaded, along with other family members, at Medicine Lake in Valley (Sheridan) County, Montana before moving on to Bonner County, Idaho.
